Materials: ceramics, stoneware and dolomite

The jugs at Dims Studio are handmade, mainly in ceramics and stoneware, with a few jugs in dolomite.

Ceramics

The Italian jugs under Selected by dims studio are hand-painted ceramics from Ceramiche F.L. Orgia. The hand-painting gives each jug a unique look with small variations in colour and glaze, which is a natural part of the handmade Italian craftsmanship and makes each jug a small, unique piece.

Stoneware

The animal jugs from Quail are made in stoneware, a dense type of ceramic fired at high temperature, making the jugs robust enough for daily use. The Missy teapot from Bloomingville and several of Creative Collection's jugs are also in stoneware.

Dolomite

The Striped Lemon jug from Kersten is made in dolomite, a type of ceramic with a slightly matte look, which differs somewhat from the shinier glaze on the ceramic jugs.

How to care for your jug

• Check the individual product description to see if the jug is dishwasher safe. Hand-painted jugs keep their colours best when hand-washed.
• Avoid a sudden shift from cold to boiling liquid, as this can cause cracks in the glaze, especially on stoneware.
