Description

Solange is cast in solid brass at a small workshop in India, where each knob is worked by hand. The tapered form with a rounded top catches light from multiple angles, and the bolt can be adjusted to suit door and drawer thicknesses of 3–5 cm. Brass is a living material that patinates towards a deeper, darker tone — craft tradition meeting contemporary colourful interiors.

Care & FAQShow less

Care and maintenance

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the surface. Brass patinates naturally and develops a darker, warmer tone over time.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between brass knobs and chrome-plated knobs?

Brass has a warm, golden lustre and patinates naturally to a deeper tone over time. Chrome-plated knobs are silver-coloured and retain their shiny finish. Brass is solid metal, whereas chrome plating is a thin coating over another base metal.

Can brass knobs be adjusted to fit different drawer thicknesses?

Yes, Solange has a bolt of 3–5 cm that can be shortened or adjusted to suit the thickness of doors and drawers.

How do you maintain brass without removing the patina?

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid polishing agents and scouring pads if you wish to preserve the natural patina.

How many knobs do I need for a dresser?

It depends on the width of the drawers. Drawers under 60 cm are fine with one centred knob, while wider drawers often look better with two knobs placed symmetrically.

Do brass knobs turn green over time?

Solid brass can develop a darker, warm patina indoors, but rarely turns greenish like pure copper. Green patina occurs primarily with outdoor use or high humidity.

Handmade & unique product

Most of my products are handmade or hand-painted. This means that there may be variations in color, finish, and minor imperfections. These variations are a natural part of the handmade look and make each product unique. Minor differences are therefore not considered defects.
