Description
Cast in India by Doing Goods in 100% recycled brass following fair-trade principles. Each knob is hand-cast with small variations in surface and patina – no two hearts are alike, and the brass deepens in character over time. A small detail with weight and warmth that turns a standard cabinet or a flea-market find into something personal and colourful.
Care and FAQShow less
Care and maintenance
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive and acidic cleaning products that can scratch or oxidise the brass surface.
Frequently asked questions
How do you install a brass cabinet knob?
Drill an 8–10 mm hole through the door or drawer front. Thread the bolt through from the front and tighten the brass nut from behind. If the thread is too long, it can be shortened with a metal file.
What is the difference between solid and recycled brass?
Solid brass is an alloy of copper and zinc extracted from new raw materials. Recycled brass has the same properties and appearance but is re-smelted from existing brass – more sustainable and equally durable.
How do you care for brass so it doesn’t go dull?
Wipe regularly with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To maintain the polished surface, buff with a mild brass polish. Many people prefer the natural patina that develops over time.
Is a heart cabinet knob a good gift for a housewarming or wedding?
Yes, a handmade brass knob makes a thoughtful housewarming or host gift. It is small, personal, and makes a big difference on an existing dresser or cabinet – especially as a heart with symbolic value for a wedding or anniversary.
Can the cabinet knob be used as a wall hook?
Yes. Drill a hole in the wall, insert a rawlplug, and mount the knob with a suitable screw or bolt. It works as a hook for necklaces, keys, scarves or light bags in the hallway.
