Quail Ceramics creates animal figures in stoneware, each hand-painted individually. This means slight variations in shades — no two sets are exactly alike. The wild boars stand 7 cm tall and have different hole sizes on top: finer holes for pepper, coarser for salt. The density of the stoneware clay makes them durable for everyday use, and the glazed surface is dishwasher safe.

Care and maintenance

Dishwasher safe. Fill through the holes on top — the base is usually not removable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Quail salt and pepper and regular ceramic spice containers?

Quail makes figurative animal shapes in stoneware with a hand-painted finish, where each figure is unique. Regular spice containers are often machine-made and identical. Quail’s wild boars also feature different hole sizes — finer for pepper, coarser for salt.

Can I wash the wild boar salt and pepper set in the dishwasher?

Yes, the density of the stoneware clay and the glazed surface make them dishwasher safe. Quail certifies all their ceramic figures for food contact and machine washing.

How do I fill salt and pepper into the wild boars?

Through the holes on top of each figure. The base is typically fixed — not removable. Use a funnel or pour carefully directly from the package.

Is the wild boar salt and pepper set a good hostess gift?

Yes, especially for someone who collects Quail figures, loves nature motifs, or has a rustic kitchen. The set is practical and decorative — and the craftsmanship makes it more personal than standard gifts.

Does Quail make other animal figures besides wild boars?

Yes, Quail Ceramics offers over 100 different animal shapes — from hedgehogs and squirrels to elephants and pigs. Many are available as salt & pepper sets, egg cups, and vases. All are hand-painted individually in England.

Handmade & unique product

Most of my products are handmade or hand-painted. This means that there may be variations in color, finish, and minor imperfections. These variations are a natural part of the handmade look and make each product unique. Minor differences are therefore not considered defects.
