Description
Thrown in stoneware and hand-painted with floral motifs and dots in muted tones. The wavy edges are shaped by hand, so colour intensity and motif placement vary from holder to holder — the set consists of two different heights that play together as an asymmetric pair. Bloomingville's Florita series has that folkloric, slightly naive ceramic aesthetic that draws on hand-painted Scandinavian and Eastern European table ceramics.
Care and FAQShow less
Care and maintenance
Wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid the dishwasher, as the hand-painted surface can wear down with repeated washing.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between stoneware and ordinary ceramics?
Stoneware is fired at a higher temperature (1200-1300°C) than ordinary ceramics, which makes it denser, less porous and more durable. It tolerates temperature changes better than terracotta or earthenware and is therefore well suited to candle holders.
How do I clean a hand-painted candle holder?
Wipe with a damp cloth, optionally with a drop of mild soap. Avoid the dishwasher and abrasive sponges, as hand-painted motifs can wear over time. Remove wax residue carefully with a wooden stick once the wax has hardened.
Do tealights fit in Florita votive holders?
Yes, votive holders are designed for tealights or small votive candles. The open shape lets the light reflect off the hand-painted surface, so the floral patterns are highlighted when the candle is lit.
Are Florita candle holders a good hostess gift?
Yes. A set of 2 hand-painted stoneware holders works as a thoughtful hostess gift or housewarming present — especially because the two different sizes can stand together or be used separately around the home.
Why do the two candle holders look different?
Each holder is painted by hand, and the wavy edges are shaped by hand. This means that colour intensity, motif placement and edge rhythm vary from piece to piece — two holders are never quite alike, and that is part of the series' character.

Handmade & unique product
Most of my products are handmade or hand-painted. This means that there may be variations in color, finish, and minor imperfections. These variations are a natural part of the handmade look and make each product unique. Minor differences are therefore not considered defects.
