Materials: ceramic, stoneware and dolomite

Like the rest of Dims Studio's platter range, the cake platters are mainly made from hand-painted ceramic and stoneware, with a few platters in dolomite.

Ceramic

Most of Caja Company's cake platters are made from hand-painted ceramic, giving each platter a unique expression with small variations in colour and glaze. This applies, among others, to the lemon and fruit platters, which are often used as part of a larger cake table.

Stoneware

Stoneware is fired at a higher temperature than ordinary ceramic and is therefore more robust. The kringle platter and the Soline platter from Bloomingville, as well as several of &Klevering's platters, are made from stoneware and therefore hold up well as a permanent part of the kitchenware.

Dolomite

The pink cake platter from &Klevering is made from dolomite, a type of ceramic with a slightly matte and soft expression, well suited to a platter that stays out as part of the decor between cake tables.

How to care for your cake platter

• Check the individual product description for whether the platter is dishwasher safe. Hand-painted platters keep their colours best when washed by hand.

Caja Company mainly supplies the lemon and fruit platters, which often form part of a larger cake table alongside the actual cake platter.
