Care and Maintenance

Vacuum regularly on the lowest setting or beat gently outdoors. For stains: blot with a damp cloth and mild soapy water — do not rub. Professional cleaning is recommended for larger stains.

FAQ

What does GoodWeave certification mean?

GoodWeave is an international certification that guarantees no child labour in the production of rugs. The organisation traces the entire supply chain, inspects factories and ensures fair wages and safe working conditions. A portion of revenue goes to educational programmes for children in production areas.

What is the difference between a wool rug and a cotton rug for a children's room?

Wool is warmer, more durable and naturally dirt-resistant, making it ideal for the floor in front of a bed. Cotton is lighter and easier to wash, but wears faster. This rug combines both: 100% wool on top for warmth and texture, and a cotton backing for stability.

How do I clean a hand-tufted wool rug?

Vacuum on the lowest setting to avoid pulling the fibres. Blot stains with a damp cloth and mild soapy water — never rub, as this felts the wool. For larger stains or an annual deep clean, professional rug cleaning is recommended.

Is a lion rug a good christening gift or 1st birthday gift?

Yes, a handmade wool rug is a durable and personal gift that will accompany a child for many years. It works both as a play rug on the floor and later as wall decoration. The GoodWeave certification also makes it a conscious gift with a great story behind it.

Can the rug be used as a wall rug?

Yes, the 100 x 65 cm format and the stable cotton backing make the rug well suited for hanging on the wall. Use a rug rod or velcro strip to distribute the weight evenly. As a wall rug it avoids wear and retains its colours longer.

Most of my products are handmade or hand-painted. This means that there may be variations in color, finish, and minor imperfections. These variations are a natural part of the handmade look and make each product unique. Minor differences are therefore not considered defects.
