Each knob is individually cast by Indian artisans who recycle brass waste into new products. The surface has the warm, golden patina unique to recycled brass. Measures 6 x 6 x 7 cm—large enough for an easy grip, yet compact enough for drawer fronts and doors. Doing Goods works directly with workshops in India, combining traditional casting techniques with sustainable material sourcing. The weight of about 85 grams gives a solid feel when opening your cabinet.

Care and Maintenance

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners—the natural patina of the brass is part of its charm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between recycled brass and new brass?

Recycled brass comes from collected brass waste (pipes, fittings, old products) that is melted down. It saves 95% energy compared to new brass production and offers a warmer, more varied surface tone. Doing Goods uses only recycled material.

How do I install a brass knob on a cabinet door?

Drill a hole through the door at the desired diameter (typically 3-4 mm). Insert the screw through the hole from behind and fasten the knob from the front. Use a washer between the screw and wood if the door is thin. The knob comes with mounting hardware.

Can the Moira Marble Knob be used as a wall hook?

Yes, it can be mounted on the wall for light items like jewelry, necklaces, or keys. Use a wall plug and screw suitable for your wall type. Avoid hanging heavy objects—the knob is designed for cabinet use.

Is the Moira Marble Knob a good housewarming gift?

Yes, especially if the recipient is furnishing a kitchen or bathroom. Brass knobs offer a tangible upgrade to standard cabinets. Consider gifting 4-6 pieces so they can replace an entire cabinet section.

Do brass knobs turn green over time?

Brass can develop a patina (darken or take on greenish hues) when exposed to moisture and air. This is a natural process. To maintain the golden tone, wipe the knob regularly. Patina can be removed with lemon juice and salt, but many prefer the matured surface.
