Description

The hook is hand-made at a family workshop in India, where traditional casting techniques give each piece small variations in the surface. The recycled brass has a warm, golden tone that develops natural patina and a soft character over time. Doing Goods is behind the design — a Dutch line of colourful animal figures that brings humour and craftsmanship into the small details of everyday life.

Care and FAQShow less

Care and maintenance

Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaning agents — brass develops natural patina over time but can be polished back to a shiny finish.

Frequently asked questions

How much can a brass hook from Doing Goods hold?

The ladybird hook is designed for lighter items such as jewellery, scarves, keys and small accessories. It is not intended for heavy bags or outerwear, as the soft character of the brass cannot handle high loads.

What is the difference between brass and recycled brass?

Recycled brass has the same material properties as newly mined brass — warm golden tone and natural patina over time — but is produced by melting down existing brass. This significantly reduces mineral extraction and energy consumption.

How do you maintain a brass hook?

Wipe with a soft cloth and, if needed, mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaning agents and abrasive sponges. If you want to preserve the shiny finish, the brass can be polished with a specific brass polish — otherwise it will develop a beautiful, darker patina.

Is a ladybird hook a good hostess gift?

Yes, it is a clever little gift under 100 kr. for the host, the wedding guest or as a small token. It is compact, easy to wrap and works in both modern and classic homes.

How is the hook mounted on the wall?

The hook has a hole for a screw on the back. Use a screw and wall plug suited to the wall material (plaster, concrete or wood). As it only needs to carry lighter items, it does not require heavy-duty fixing.

Handmade & unique product

Most of my products are handmade or hand-painted. This means that there may be variations in color, finish, and minor imperfections. These variations are a natural part of the handmade look and make each product unique. Minor differences are therefore not considered defects.
