Sustainable products
At dims studio, we strive for more and more sustainable products over time. You have expressed the demand and we listen to you. But what makes a product sustainable?Sustainability involves several different things - including people, climate and environment. In this category, we have gathered all the products that in one way or another can be seen as sustainable. You can read more about them under each product - or a little more generally in the section below.
For environment and climate
Circular economy, recyclability and longer life. Products made from recycled materials, and / or that can be easily recycled when they are no longer to be used by you, are sustainable. It can also be things that are easy to repair or that are produced in Denmark. Locally produced things affect the climate on the freight and transport front to the same extent as goods that come from far away.
Examples of these environmentally and climate-friendly products include La Label's t-shirts and sweatshirts. They are made of organic cotton, are certified CO2 neutral and designed and printed near Aarhus. There are also products such as water bottles in stainless steel - a really good alternative to disposable bottles and plastic bottles. Laptop sleeves made in vintage saris are also a good (and sustainable) example.
Did you also know that the puzzles from Eeboo are made from 90% recycled cardboard? The ink is vegetable and the business is family owned - started by Mia Galison. Then there is even sustainable family fun on the table. J
For the people involved
Sustainable products can also be products that are fair trade and have created better conditions for the people who are responsible for their production. This includes, for example, handmade and painted products where workers' wages, working hours and working conditions are good. This means that people are valued and respected, and that their rights are enforced and protected. That is also sustainability. Social responsibility is at least as important as environmental responsibility.
As an example of this, we have products from Doing Goods. They even make frequent use of recycled materials, while at the same time strengthening the local community in the Indian village with their fine workshop. You can read more about it at Doing Goods at this link: https://www.doing-goods.com/where-its-made/
