The Dybdahl Co.
The Dybdahl Co. has taken its name from its founder, Henrik Dybdahl. Since 2013, they have created posters with the most beautiful motifs from nature - and they also take inspiration in several other things. Flora and fauna, however, are the basic essence of the posters, and it is not to be mistaken.
The motifs are often old originals, which are digitized, made more modern and added their own Scandinavian touch. All the time with respect for the original design. The Dybdahl Co. wants to be able to add a special vintage-like touch to your home, while the Scandinavian and modern expression still shines through.
Their botanical prints are especially a hit and come in many different sizes, colors and expressions. Common to them all is that they are interest drawings and remixes of old illustrations. They have been found in, among other things, old university books and teaching materials, as well as in exhibitions of art. Both large and small.
The Dybdahl Co. makes prints that can do something very special. Even a single poster of the nature of the jungle or a palm tree can give a tropical ambiance and atmosphere to your home. As they use Japanese archival color on Hahnemühle paper, they also have a special expression that matches the vintage-like look they go for.
They print their own posters in their own workshop / studio at Barfredshøj Manor, which is located approx. half an hour from Copenhagen. Here they can always be surrounded by nature and the animals in it, and it provides the perfect place for inspiration for their particular posters.
One reason they are happy to find inspiration in works from the old days is that they love cultural heritage. They want to bring nostalgia and history forward.
They are also inspired by different art genres and species. Among other things, they have their Japanese series, which is inspired by the old woodcut, Ukiyo-E. We absolutely love their creativity and ideas, and therefore you can also find a wide selection of The Dybdahl Co. here in the webshop. In the shop we also sell their posters, and you can even buy a frame with them.
Of course, it is not only nature, flora and fauna that they illustrate. You can also find interest rate drawings of old posters from the US zoos. Here we were around the 1930s, which can also be seen on the posters. Still, they have just the modern touch that The Dybdahl Co. has. so fine can highlight in a discreet way.
